MYA Dubai unveils nine-course New Year celebration

MYA Dubai has announced a New Year’s Eve dining and entertainment programme for 31 December 2026, offering guests a nine-course dinner, live performances and views towards the Burj Khalifa as the city welcomes 2027.
The restaurant and lounge, situated on the first floor of The Dubai Mall near its waterfall attraction, is promoting an evening titled Grand Opera New Year’s Eve 2027. Packages start at Dh2,000 per person, with the final cost dependent on seating arrangements.
The programme is scheduled to begin at 7pm and will combine a multi-course dining service with performances throughout the evening. MYA has listed vocalists, a saxophonist, violinists, a pianist, dancers and DJs among the entertainment planned for the celebration.
The venue is advertising views of the fireworks associated with the Burj Khalifa countdown, a principal attraction for visitors spending New Year’s Eve in Downtown Dubai. However, the restaurant has not specified which tables will provide its advertised front-row views, making seating location an important consideration for customers.
The announced dinner package includes a premium welcome beverage, water and soft drinks. The venue has not clearly identified any additional beverages included in the advertised starting price, and guests seeking particular drinks or seating positions will need to confirm the terms directly before making a reservation.
Organisers have adopted a Grand Opera theme for the evening, with theatrical decoration and a dress code described as Grand Opera Elegance. Guests are being encouraged to wear red, black or white, matching the colours specified for the event.
MYA has also announced a raffle offering an iPad Air or an iPhone 18 Pro Max. Details of eligibility and the drawing procedure have not been fully outlined in the publicly available event information.
The celebration places MYA among a growing number of Downtown Dubai restaurants marketing New Year’s Eve packages that combine dining, entertainment and access to views of the city’s midnight festivities. The location within The Dubai Mall places the venue close to the Burj Khalifa, although proximity alone does not guarantee an unrestricted sightline from every seat.
The advertised package price is a starting rate rather than a uniform charge for all reservations. Prospective guests will therefore need to establish the exact table category, total payable amount and any booking conditions before committing to the event. The venue’s published details do not establish that every guest will receive an identical fireworks viewing experience.
Separately, Emaar, the developer associated with the Downtown Dubai New Year celebrations, had not published its complete programme for the 31 December 2026 Burj Khalifa show as of the latest available event information. MYA’s advertised fireworks experience should consequently be distinguished from an independently confirmed schedule or specification for the tower’s display.
Previous Downtown Dubai celebrations have involved fireworks and illuminated displays centred on the tower, drawing large crowds to surrounding streets, restaurants and designated viewing areas. The arrangements for this year’s event, including access restrictions and transport measures, remain subject to official announcements closer to the date.
Access to Downtown venues can require advance planning because traffic controls and pedestrian management affect movement around the district on New Year’s Eve. Emaar’s guidance for earlier celebrations advised restaurant guests to obtain the appropriate access badges through their booked venues and arrive before road closures. Those earlier instructions should not be treated as confirmed arrangements for December 2026.
For MYA customers, the practical distinction between a reservation and a guaranteed view is particularly relevant. A table within the restaurant may offer a different perspective from a designated outdoor viewing area, and guests should ask whether their chosen package includes a clearly identified view of the Burj Khalifa.
The event is being marketed as an evening-long experience rather than a standalone midnight gathering. Its announced combination of dining courses and several categories of performers suggests entertainment will be spread across the night, although a detailed running order and individual performance times have not been published.
MYA occupies the first floor on the waterfall side of The Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai. Its announced starting time is 7pm on Thursday, 31 December, with the Grand Opera dress theme applying to guests attending the celebration. The restaurant has not specified separate arrival arrangements for guests holding different categories of reservations.
